Thyme has been cherished for centuries for its culinary uses and medicinal value. Ancient Egyptians used it in mummification due to its preservation properties, while the Greeks associated thyme with courage and energy. By the Middle Ages, thyme symbolized bravery and was placed under pillows to help ward off nightmares.
